“Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing.”

Why You Need A Blog For Your Business

There’s only one answer to this, and it’s because blogging is generally easier and richer in benefits compared to other forms of Internet marketing.

Why Blogging Is Easier Then Other Forms Of Internet Marketing.

Easy to Design

Unlike websites, in which only some but rarely all of its pages consist of static design, blogs always have one overall design for all its pages. You can also choose to design in CSS or HTML, whichever is more comfortable to you, but if you don’t know any designing language, you could always choose any of the pre-made template designs offered by the blog service provider.

Easy to Update or Modify

Unlike websites, which you basically have to update or modify through manual means, blogs can be easily updated or changed by clicking on the edit button for the particular post you wish to change. After keying in or removing the pertinent data, you’ll only have to click the save or update button and that’s it! Everything’s back to normal and flow of traffic can resume once more.

Easy to Categorize

Unlike websites, which usually requires you to categorize data or pages one by one, blogs generally allow you easy control over categories and themes. With just one click, you can automatically move groups of posts from one category to another. You can also provide a name and description for each category.

The Benefits Of Using Blogs Over Other Forms Of Internet Marketing.

SEO-Friendly URLs

Unlike websites and other forms of Internet marketing, blog service providers usually offer blog owners easy and SEO friendly options for choosing and creating their blog URLs. As such, blogs have a fairer chance of rising high in search engine page rankings even if they can’t be classified as websites per se.

Internal Linking

Blog owners can also make use of deep linking techniques through their posts. By using trackbacks and other types of links, they can automatically give their entries multiple links. Because of this, search engine spiders will naturally have a more favorable outlook toward these blogs and consequently giving them higher rankings. To take full advantage of this benefit, always take note of the related blog entries so you can link them together. Consider dividing your posts into segments or making follow-up entries. Use blog post titles that allow readers to know if they’re linked to other posts such as Part One, Part Two, and Part Three.

Connecting to Your Customers through RSS

Blog owners also have an easier option of connecting and updating their readers simply by RSS. If readers like what they’re seeing and reading, all they have to do is use the RSS link provided in the blog and they can automatically receive news, updates, and alerts in their email inbox.

Points for Diligence

Unlike other forms of Internet marketing, writing diligently isn’t rewarded but in fact punished because readers consider them annoying while search engine spiders view them with suspicion. It’s definitely a different world, however, when it comes to blogging. Each time a blog owner posts new content, this is equivalent to one brownie point for his blog in the eyes of search engine spiders. The more you write the more chances for your blog to rise in terms of search engine rankings. More importantly, posting is for free so you can update as many times as you want everyday.

Better Interaction

You can also interact more and better with readers and clients through blogging. More importantly, the blogging community is considerably more active than people who frequent forums or subscribe to email alerts. Bloggers love to write and are therefore more inclined to comment on whatever post you have. Each comment, by the way, is also considered as a brownie point in your favor.

If the above reasons and benefits have convinced you to make a blog for your business, here are some tips you should remember:

Choose your title wisely, whether it’s for your blog itself or for any of your entries. Titles are one of the most important things in the eyes of search engine spiders.

Be brief but concise. Bloggers are rarely in favor of tediously long posts. They want brevity not detail.

And lastly, blog about what you know!

New Internet Marketing Trends For Home Businesses

Nowadays, the success of a home-based enterprise does not only rely on the business acumen of the owner and the novelty of the business idea. One of the most crucial components of success is the ability of the home business to find novel and effective ways to market its products or services at fraction of the costs spent by big multinational companies and manufacturers.

The emergence of the Internet has made it possible for small home-based businesses to level the advertising and marketing playing field. Now, more than ever, home businesses can trail, if not overtake, big names in the industry with the help of new and effective Internet marketing tools.

Furthermore, the World Wide Web is dynamic — constantly changing and improving. Thus, businesses, particularly the small and medium enterprises, should continue to make their marketing strategies abreast with the changing times.

Below is a list of new web-based marketing trends that will surely help you expand your customer base and grow your home business.

Take advantage of the straight-to-desktop and RSS technology

According to recent studies, an individual receives over 3,400 web-based marketing ads a day. With the sheer number of junk mails and pop-up ads, it is not really surprising that many get irked with web-based marketing. Because of the daily bombardment of such an enormous amount of sales pitches daily, a number of people would rather block pop-up ads or filter their e-mail accounts for spam messages. As a marketer, you wouldn’t want your message or mail to be one of the ads that are blocked and filtered.

A good way of ensuring that your ads is not thrashed or ignored is to make use of the straight-to-desktop and Rich Site Summary Feed technology. These new tools help people eliminate the content that they want from those that they want or need. With RSS, a person will receive regular updates via a feed reader of the content that he or she has requested. The straight-to-desktop technology works almost the same way as an RSS. The main difference is that it provides exclusivity so there are no competing feeds.

An effective way to take advantage of the abovementioned tools is to join message boards, forums and groups that are directly or indirectly related to the product or service that you are providing. Once you are member of a group or forum, however, do not just advertise. Participate in discussions and also provide relevant information. You must also show that you are truly interested in the group, forum or message board, and you and your company provide relevant products and services that most members of the group.

Provide what your potential customers want

If you want to get ahead of the pack, you need to do a lot of intensive research. If you already have a website, you can get reports that will be relevant in determining your target market.

As mentioned earlier, people are becoming increasingly impatient with web-based messages and ads that they do not need and are not relevant in their lives. Thus, you need to know the segment of people who need your products or services. How will you be able to cater to your clients’ needs if you have no idea what they want or require.

You need to secure specific information on what types of pages your potential clients are visiting, what type of links they access and view, and what segment or geographic locations do they belong.

Ensure that you provide relevant, up-to-date, and interesting content

People’s thirst for top-quality, up-to-date and fascinating content is insatiable. When a person finds an interesting information or article in a website, he or she will surely pass it on to his or her friends and family.

It is really imperative for you to pay particular attention to the free articles in your website. The articles should be informative, significant, useful, and entertaining. Once you provide such articles and information, you don’t have to really think of how your message will reach your target market. The readers and visitors of your website will be the ones to pass the information about your product, services, or websites to other people.

Don’t be afraid to try new things

Do not be afraid of technology. In fact, you need to use all the available resources to let your niche market know that you exist. Experiment on the new trends, such as podcasting, videos, and mobile phone technology.

When You Should Consider Outsourcing

Outsourcing is a common practice for many businesses and is often an excellent business tool to create value, save on costs and manpower and produce better, more effective business systems. For many internet marketers, outsourcing was a possibility that seemed too far in the horizon to be noticed, especially when there are software available to make the job quick and easy for intrepid do-it-yourselfers.

However, in recent years, the trend seems to point in the direction of outsourcing as a viable and practical means with which to conduct internet marketing. As internet businesses grew, so did the need to outsource tasks. Many people have used outsourcing with much success, but how sure are you it can make a difference in your internet marketing business? Here are signs that it’s time to consider outsourcing:

You don’t have the technical knowledge.

If your website is a mess and you can’t seem to connect its relevance to your company’s off-line operations, it’s time to find someone who can help you create a connection. You might be able to build a website through scratch but it may not have the right kind of interactive features that will make it easier for your customers to do business with you.

Maybe you need automatic calculators, ordering and shopping systems or double opt-in features integrated into your site. If you know nothing of the mechanics of these programs, you’ll need to outsource.

You need a service that needs human attention and effort and is hard to automate.
If a service can be automated, there really is no reason for you to outsource. It’s much practical cost-wise to pay for programming if that’s the case. But if human knowledge and skills specific to a service is required, you should consider outsourcing.

Privacy is an issue.

If privacy is your concern, this is also an area that oursourced internet marketing services can help you with. Privacy is one of the biggest concerns in internet marketing and if you want to keep your clients safe and happy, you will need to come up with a privacy policy and a site that will keep their information secure and your business reliable. Many companies offer third party encryption SSLs either as a separate service or part of a package and you can make use of these services to address security issues.

You want to intensify your internet marketing campaign.

A lot of things ride on how well you can promote your site. By outsourcing the design and implementation, you can actually save time, effort and money in the long run. Hiring the right experts in such areas assures you of quality and relevant work. An outsourced internet service is much more likely to create better customer response because the effort is concentrated. You only need to pay the outsourced service to focus on your internet campaign and its results.

Your customer service badly needs assistance.

If your customer service is desperately crying for help, it’s time to look to outsourcing to take care of your clients and keep your business at par. Your customer service mans the front lines and is your clients’ first contact with your company. By outsourcing the handling and management of your customer service, your client’s needs are better taken care of.

Your company is growing.

With more growth come more responsibilities. Keeping an eye on the changes that occur in rapid succession can mean full-time attention. Tasks that used to do okay with just one employee will require two or more hands. Instead of hiring more employees to handle the workload, you can solve the problem of back logs by simply outsourcing your common internet marketing tasks such as graphic design, site redevelopment, list management, search engine optimization and site promotion.

You’re pressed for time, all the time.

More tasks means more deadlines to meet and while you might be doing okay by working in your internet marketing business with 20-hour days, you’re bound to be overwhelmed sooner or later. If writing an article takes you an hour per and you need dozens per week, you might be better off outsourcing that task and using your free time doing research to improve your products and services and focusing on company plans.

You need to rebuild your strategy.

A good strategy is essential in internet marketing success. No business ever succeeded by going into business with no plans. An outsourced internet marketing service company can help you structure your website, improve your positioning in search engines, create site promos such as blogs and contextual advertising and focus on strategic partnerships. This is excellent for creating your reputation as an internet marketing company online.

You want the best services possible.

By outsourcing your internet marketing tasks, you send an open invitation to different outsourcing companies to bid their services at the best possible prices. This way, you are able to access the most effective and pertinent services that your business really needs. When outsourcing companies vie for your business, you get to pick which ones have the best services that are in line with the direction your company is taking.

    Hello Jason,

Your blog posts are like an education in themselves. While providing useful information, you present them in a simple and clear way that anyone can understand.

While going through your second article, “New Internet Marketing Trends For Home Businesses” I can’t help but think that with so much good information such as this being made available online, it won’t be long when so many would become savvy enough to do business from home.

When that happens, I wonder if we would bump into each other in the park, grocery, basketball games, etc? :)
